With Sickne's appointment to the Citadel Council, his first act was to place Officer Firkkus as the newest SPECRTE. While a controversial move Sickne justified his position because it was discovered the Geth technology is aboard the Citadel. All Geth material is self aware, holding a portion of the main AI, and thus any amount is a grave threat to the Citadel!
Critics of Sickne could not argue the need for Shepherd's successor was at hand. Firkkus having worked on several cases relating to "The Mule" is now leading the effort to finding a face to this online persona. The sooner the better as "The Mule" may be aiding terrorist activities.
Firkkus joined existing SPECTRES Eeli and Sola who relyed all the case files of the deceased Shepherd. (Eeli and Sola were following on Shepherd's loose ends far and away in the Galaxy). Firkkus now enjoys the full support of the Turian Army, the Citadel Council, and of C-Sec.
Knowing that all Geth tech holds an element of AI, a total sweep of the citadel was ordered. A door to door search across neighborhoods to see if there were any digital traces of artificial intelligence on any computer networks. The search needed lots of manpower and work hours...
Officers Aldrin and Eck made good progress in eliminating several suspicious locations, but spent a long day walking. Officer Aaland, thinking this a tedious process decided to meet with Financial Adviser Barla Von. Von had in the past assisted C-Sec with White-Collar crimes. Aaland wanted to question the nature of a possible corporate conspiracy with Ekklos Combine. Barla Von doubted that any of the recent crimes would have been perpetrated by Ekklos Combine itself. After-all, Why would a giant company want to sabotage its profits?
Von disclosed who the majority shareholders were of these suspicious companies and was shocked to find Saren! Saren Arterius was a key leader of the Geth attack on the Citadel, only stopped by Commander Shepherd. That Saren owned Exogeni and Double Helix, is the explanation how the Geth technology got on the Citadel! Ekklos Combine, having bought out Exogeni and Double Helix may have unintentionally purchased a terrorist's possessions.
Barla Von, does not know who The Mule is, but offers a new Mystery. How is The Mule making their money?
Meanwhile, C-Sec analyst Iddsy, discovered that the Husks, which attacked Dronak, were reanimated Quarian corpses. Shepherds reports say that Husks are created by Geth Technology. C-Sec tighted their search loop into the Quarian Neighborhood. Officer Aldrin when arriving in the neighborhood was met with protesters. Among their complaints include the reappearance of the Geth, Firkkus as a disgrace to shepherds memory, and the high price of prescription drugs. Aldrin searched two delivery vans making deposits to the Clinic but found only conventional medicines. He noted that their courier company was the same as Sato's agency and wanted to recall that detail...
When Officer Eck arrived at the Clinic she discovered that indeed there was AI in the building. She began to go room to room to investigate. Officer Aaland arrived soon after but as he was looking around a nurse assaulted him. Injecting him with a strong dose of Tempo. Aaland, his reflexes heightened and his adrenaline superhuman wrestled the nurse to the ground. Eck came running and worked to calm Aaland down or else his heart might explode from overuse. Aldrin made his way to the morgue. Upon reaching the basement he got the jump on a hired thug who was moving illegal equipment around. Aldrin subdued him with a taser before reaching the Husk spire and securing it. Both the Thug and the Nurse were arrested and both were eager to spill on the Mule. The nurse was instructed by Sato to prevent anyone from getting to close to the Geth Tech. She didn't wish to kill anyone and C-Sec favors leniency.
As for the Thug his information merely confirmed a lot of what C-Sec already knew. The Mule is loaning money to criminal enterprises around the Citadel, has numerous faker personas, and was a part of the failed Exogeni and Double Helix companies. There wasn’t much else to say for this ruffian, but knowing that Ekklos Combine has taken possession of criminal assets, C-Sec needs to repossession whatever illegal items they have.
Sadly, Ekklos Combine has not been previously cooperative.
