Following the Exogeni debacle,
C-Sec scrambled to any answers on just what and why the thieves would make such a brazen attack
Officer Aldrin came to learn that the Exogeni hostage situation was a decoy to allow a simultaneous break in at Double Helix. Thieves made off with Gene Pattens, experimental medical devices and live DNA - including Rachni DNA.
Aldrin also leans that both Exogeni and Double Helix are now owned by Ekklos Combine, a weapons manufacturer.
D'Tang, who discovered the identity of the chef kidnapper at Exogeni, pursued every lead on that person. Sato, the kidnapper, was a courier who primarily distributed prescription drugs, from a Double Helix pharmaceutical plant to various clinics and residences.
Life saving medicines, like insulin, epinephrine, and heart medications.
D'Tang also traced down the emails discovered from "The Mule," and while the email addresses and IPs are surely fakes they have been bounced from a physical address - which is registered at Ekkloss Combine - Ekkloss denies all involvement.
Officer Clark Smelling conspiracy, began to wonder who and why would "The Mule" go to all this trouble?
Before more progress on this conspiracy two developments split the investigators.
Dronak was forced into leave from C-Sec and later attacked in an alleyway. Believing this to be a deliberate threat against his life he interfered in the C-Sec investigations and threatened the lives of Ekkloss Combine security personnel.
A warrant was issued for his arrest.
Officer Aaland and Firkus pursued and ultimately cornered Dronak, who agreed to go into custody.
Meanwhile, Dtang, Aldrin and Clark worked with two existing Spectres (Eili and Sola) to find the origin of Dronaks assailants.
These Spectres had been following up on Shepherds activities after the commander's disappearance.
The team tracked a path back to the Quarian neighborhood and to the "abandoned" warehouse.
This was a trap. And the team was lucky to escape alive.
With Dronak in Jail and the best leads only making a deadly culdesac... all that was left in the day was the conspiracy.
Officer Aaland began to ponder just who are the decision makers at Ekkloss Combine, and made an appointment with Barla Von, a financial expert, to pursue the mystery... Qui Bono?
